What are the issues around School Shootings?
- Mental health (non-incarceration)
- Criminality (non-incarceration)
- Sensationalizing mass shootings (to get copy-cats)
- the lack of hardening of our schools
Gun control doesn't make the top 50.
How do we know? We used to bring guns to school for ROTC and marksmanship and have them in the pickup trucks in the parking lots (60s and 70s). As gun control went up, mass murders and gun comes went up too. So the problem is not with the tool, the culture. The more we buy into leftist greivances, and that nothing is our fault... the more we get mass shooters.
Now which issues have Democrats been on the wrong side of, when it comes to gun control and school shootings?
(1) Mental Health -- they were behind the emptying of assylums and support free range homeless -- with reward, lack of enforcement of laws, and their sympathy... remember One Flew over the Cuckoos nest? That was a 70s movie over the emptying of institutions in the 60s that Democrats supported. If you support less institutionalization, the consequence is more mass shootings. Period. You can think it's worth it, but it's a cost.
(2) The same with prisons. Compassion towards criminals is cruelty towards victims. Everything comes with tradeoffs. The left is sympathetic towards criminals... If you support less institutionalization, the consequence is more mass shootings. Period. You can think it's worth it, but it's a cost.
So what do you get when you don't lock people up? You get them on the streets. And some of them will do bad things. (Far more than will from general public). Thus the cost of sympathy for felons and the mentally ill (the leftist view), is more mass murders and bad things.
The last few mass/school shootings all had one thing in common -- many warnings that the public/institutions ignored. And the Democrats resist more enforcement with ideas like defunding the police, or complaining about over incarceration, and always trying to empathize with the bad guys, because nothing is their fault (they're just victims of Social Injustice, even when they aren't).
Why is Japan so lawful? Because they have a lower barrier to locking people up. We know who the bad guys are. We just put civil rights above public safety... and that's fine. Just don't pretend the problems are because of allowing cars, knives or guns. The problem is that we don't lock up threats to public safety. And if you're going to say repeat assaults and threats aren't worth punishment, then don't act suprised when eventually one of those bad guys gets a knife, gun or car, and kills many.
(3) Dems support the media hyping this stuff, knowing that it leads to more little coffins because it helps with their agenda of violating the constitution and attacking the constitution and rights of law-abiding citizens. If there's no problem, then there's nothing to fix -- so they have an incentive in making sure there's a problem. But they're OK with it, because little coffins make great soapboxes to stand on. You don't get change (progressive agendas) by fixing things. You get change by making them worse, and using that as a catalyst to get people to give you power/money.
(4) Dems oppose the hardening of schools because it worked in Israel, they do it for congress/senate and themselves -- but it would undermine their calls for the disarmament of law-abiding citizens. Thus, they make memes like the one you shared. Either because they are that willfully ignorant of the topic (despite others trying to educate them), or they are just that evil (Malicious) and willing to sacrifice ALL the children for their latest cause du jour.
It's like the border, they know the open border facilitates child trafficking, sexual abuse, many dying to Fentanyl, and $3,000-5,000 per illegal immigrant to cartels... they don't care about the human suffering caused, because it gets them votes from ignorant left coasters. So the body bags, slavery, and suffering is for a good cause: they're personal betterment, or that of their agenda.
Also, if you know gun homicide rates, you know that gun ownership is higher amongst republicans and red states -- and about 3/4ths of murders (or more) are done in low gun ownership high gun control Democrat cities. There's not only NOT a correlation with guns or gun control, there's a negative correlation. The highest murder rate is black-on-black gang crime (over half -- and 90% vote Democrat), then latinos are half the rest (also with high Democrat participation). When you look at America's white murder rate, especially in more rural red states or towns? It's about comparable or lower than Europes white murder rate, with far FAR more gun ownership. Guns aren't the problem. Nor is gun control. We don't need gun control, we need Democrat control.
So if all those are facts -- and if you bother to get informed, you can validate all of them. Then what did we learn about gun control and mass/school shootings and the meme above?
