Remake of 1960's campy TV series. Updated, better, but still campy. Liked the big story arc, didn't like episode arcs.
A remake of a 1960's campy TV series by the same name. This is updated/modernized, and much better -- while keeping a lot of the basic tenets of the original. The episodes frenetic and continuous skin of the teeth last millisecond crazy saves grows tiring -- but the overall story (larger ARC) is quite interesting and far better than the original.

It's a 3 season trilogy on Netflix that was quite updated from the original: great special effects, completely watchable -- with lots of tributes of the original. But they did modernize the story, a lot, and make a much better arc.

The basic arc is that the Robinson clan is leaving Earth for a new colony on Alpha Centari, but they are thrown off course, and have a lot of "issues" to deal with first... along with their frenemy, the self-serving and always fearful Dr. Smith... and the friendly smuggler Don West.

While the bigger story arc sucked me in, and I watched it -- each episode was almost torturesome with the zany antics and absurd physics-defying rescues. I still liked it enough to watch it, and it's kid-friendly -- almost a Disney TV type show with the pretentious kids being the smart ones and running things.

Unfortunately, the story format makes it hard to discuss more without reveals. So for family fare, it's not bad. For adult SciFi you have to have a high tolerance for kids and adults doing absurdly risky things, constantly, to really enjoy it.
