The basis of humor is unexpected truth, and a lack of malicious intent.
Humor requires something to be unexpectedly true (ironic). Malice also become less funny. So repeating mistruths with anger has a smaller audience (it amuses the misinformed partisans). While pithy and ironic but truthful observations, with jaded mocking, has far wider appeal.

Facts[edit | edit source]

  • The inherent lack of truth, and malicious intent, is why the left's memes on things like, "All Republicans are racists or white"... just not that funny. It is meant with extreme prejudice, and is just plain wrong. So not very funny. Nor is an out of context gotcha, where everyone knows the person meant the opposite.
  • On the other hand, observing a truth like spoiled kids are the biggest wokesters, or that Athletes/Hollywood trying to tell us how to live, while living fucked up lives? That's amusing to those who get the irony. And most I know that mock Hollywood or Athletes don't hate either (they watch them)... they just get that if they were as wise as they think they are, they'd shut up more, and stop snapping at the audience that pays them.
