Oliver Stone hates Bush, and it shows. Not history, just alternate far leftist versions of it.

Oliver Stone fictionalized delusion that had nothing to do with history, but trashed Bush during his administration to try to help swing an election towards the Democrats. Stone failed, at this and life, sad human. Reviewers thought it was OK, viewers thought it stank, and this was self selected viewers that wanted to see this tripe.

I'm not saying the show was completely unwatchable. It wasn't a horrible movie. Just recognize that it was anti-American propaganda written/directed by American hating privileged elites, that think Mao or Stalin would make America Better.
