This section is all about me (Ari Sabouni). (If you want more about why, you can read the About section). What is life if it isn't sharing our experiences and perceptions, in the hopes that others can chuckle or learn from them? I learned long ago, that the process of writing and organizing my thoughts is cathartic, and once completed, I can, "let it go".

  • Cars - Cars are freedom, fun, and what gets me to places I'd rather be (or away from places I don't want to be).
  • Computer Experiences - Experience is what you get, no matter what you wanted. These are my growth opporunities via computers.
  • Electric Bike - I had an electric bike (55lbs beast) that I rode to work for many years. You work more on electric, or at least I did.
  • Favorite Books - Raindrops on roses and whiskers on kittens... these are a few of my favorite things.
  • Favorite Videos - Raindrops on roses and whiskers on kittens... these are a few of my favorite things.
  • Homes - Pictures of place we've lived, owned, or had as rental properties.
  • Life Experiences - Life experiences make us who we are (or influence it).
  • Medical - I think everyone has had at least some "pleasant" experiences at the Doctors offices. These are some of mine.
  • Memes/Mine - Things I created, or all about me.
  • Pets - Pet's that I've owned, borrowed or lost.
  • Refrigerator Magnet Poetry - My foray into poetry was just to use up a bunch fo refigerator magets. The word constraints helped me say something.
  • Story of us - This is the "Story of us"... the pictures/tales of some highlighted trips, events or milestones in our life.
  • Story of us/2 - This is the "Story of us"... the pictures/tales of some highlighted trips, events or milestones in our life.
  • The Vandals - Punk Band: The Vandals, wrote a song, "I want to be a Cowboy" in response to a Cowboy bar next door to a Punk Club.
  • Timeline - If you had one poster/memory of your life experience, what would it look like? (More accomplishments than family photos).
  • Aristotle Sabouni/Work Experiences - Work experience is what you get when you didn't get what you wanted. Or at least I learn more from those kind.

▼ Favoritesℹ️

  • Cars - Cars sort of matter to me: they were freedom and the ability to go where I wanted. For a while, they were sort of an extension of my personality, or at least reflected it a little -- though as I got older, I got more utilitarian and they're more a transportation device.

These are pictures of cars that I've owned: or like make/model/color substitutes if I can't find pictures of my actual car.
  • Computer Experiences - They say experience is what you get, when you didn't get what you wanted. I'm not completely sure about that, and I often got exactly what I wanted (and then some) from my early experiences in Computers. This is the Computer stuff that's often too brutally honest to be in any Résumé, some glory, some shame. But just stories about me, computers and usually in the 1980's.
  • Electric Bike - I have an electric bike that I ride. It's a 55lbs beast, but I like it. One of the things that people who don't ride them think is, "that's cheating". The truth is the opposite. Since the bikes boost your pedaling, and we like to get places faster, I tend to pedal MORE, like continuously, when I'm on the e-bike (no coasting).
  • Favorite Books - Raindrops on roses and whiskers on kittens... these are a few of my favorite things. Just a few books that were worth the time to read. Or at least impacted me in my youth.
  • Favorite Videos - Raindrops on roses and whiskers on kittens... these are a few of my favorite things. Just a few videos that are worth the time to watch... some by me, some are by others. From motivational speakers, to life experiences, toastmasters speeches, and a little politics and comedy to break things up. I think each of these is worth the time invested.
  • Homes - Pictures of place we've lived, owned, or had as rental properties. Where you're from and what experiences you had, sort of define us -- or at least leave marks. Plus re-visiting them in pictures brings back memories.
  • Life Experiences - Life experiences make us who we are (or influence it). Experience is what we get, when we didn't get what we wanted. Here's a few stories from my past that made me who I am, or at least influenced it or reflected it.
  • Medical - I think everyone has had at least some "pleasant" experiences at the Doctors offices. If you haven't, you will. I sometimes am left to wonder if the AMA is conspiring with Gerbels, Mengela, to think of new procedures to torment, humiliate, or outright torture the common man. "We could do a MRI or cat-scan; but an endoscopy would be much more fun... for us".
  • Memes/Mine - Memes, Art, drawings, doodles, or just things that I created, or are about me.
  • Pets - Pet's that I've owned, borrowed or lost. Some of them were just animals I cared for, many had strong personalities and I bonded with and thus missed when they passed, got lost, or eaten. Plus re-visiting them in pictures brings back memories.
  • Refrigerator Magnet Poetry - Someone dumped a large bunch of these refrigerator magnets on a white-board wall we had at work (in front of my office). People would put up a sentence or quip, daily. Then one day, I had an incredible mind moment, and wrote out a poem with the words available. It sort of spoiled it: as no one ever touched the magnet words after that.
  • Story of us - This is the "Story of us"... highlighted trips, events or milestones in our life (my wife and my life's journey), or at least the ones that we got pictures of. Most pictures of trips are boring to me, because I don't have the context: so in this digital scrapbook, I try to offer just a little bit about each picture and why it matters.
  • Story of us/2 - This is the "Story of us"... the list of some highlighted trips, events or milestones in our life (my wife and my life's journey), or at least the ones that we got pictures of. Most pictures of trips are boring to me, because I don't have the context: so in this digital scrapbook, I try to offer just a little bit about each picture and why it matters. And you can tunnel in and see more in each section. I have plenty of gaps to fill, but when I'm done, I think I'm going to print a wall sized poster. out of it.
  • The Vandals - Amusing Punk Band: The Vandals wrote a song, "I want to be a Cowboy" about a Cowboy bar (Zubies) right next door to a Punk Club (Cuckoo's), and the fights that broke out between them. A very arty way of dealing with the conflict. Since I grew up in area, and frequented both, it was personal to me.
  • Timeline - I was just imagining, what would a Life Experience Resume look like, if you weren't applying for a job, and just sharing some of the things you'd accomplished: work, personal life, and experiences. Plus I wanted to organize some pictures, diplomas, and accolades I'd collected. (Not counting things I'd thrown away, like Martial Arts Tournament Trophies).
  • Aristotle Sabouni/Work Experiences - They say experience is what you get, when you didn't get what you wanted. I'm not completely sure about that... but work experiences make us who we are (or influence it). This is too brutally honest to be in any Résumé, it's more a Dilbert-esque look at the working world, not to malign the companies I worked at (which were far from the worst places), but more to remind others or myself of what experiences and lessons I got, when I didn't always get what I wanted.

  • Story of us/1991 How we met - I met my wife in 1991. I taught Martial Arts. She joined my class. (My friend was dating her best friend. They both were taking classes from me. They suggested she join... and the rest is history). I took her to a Family Reunion a few months later. She showed poor judgement by not fleeing after meeting those nut-jobs and miscreants: in other words, a keeper!
  • Story of us/1992 Getaways - We had a few "get-aways" in 1992. Palm Springs to fish, hike and network gaming (SpacewardHo!). "How to Host a Murder" with a Star Trek theme.
  • Story of us/1993 Toga - Does your neighborhood have a Toga Party? Ours did. Nothing bonds the neighbors like drunken nudity and debauchery. The crutches were my brothers... after he broke both ankles riding a motorcycle off a cliff. He stuck the landing. Liquor and loose clothing, what could go wrong?
  • Story of us/1994 Wedding - I said, "A wedding is something I'd do, if I could do it in shorts and tennis shoes"... next thing I knew, we were at the chapel (Aug). We did it quick, and intimate. We didn't want the stress and drama: low key. We took my little Isuzu Amigo, and drove off into the sunset Orange Hill Restaurant, for a nice dinner with the Wedding Party, the to San Diego.
  • Story of us/1994 Weekend Honeymoon - Our Honeymoon was we drove down to San Diego for an extended weekend. Sea World was fun -- nothing says marital bliss like watching the alpha predator of the sea, being domesticated, and doing tricks for dinner. In movies this is called foreshadowing. We also did Pacific Beach (PB), Old Town... and then moved down there 6 months later by pure coincidence.
  • Story of us/2001 Niagara Falls - We June road-tripped to Niagara Falls, Buffalo and visited Canada too, eh. I wanted to pee off the lookout as a testament to mans impotence compared to nature. (Plus I had to go). My wife didn't want me to get arrested, so veto'd my idea of performance art. We took the maid of the mist, got wet. The Canadian side is so much more commercial/touristy, and interesting.
  • Story of us/2001 Ohio Bro Visit - We moved to Ohio, and when my brother visited (late Sept.), we did all the Tourist stuff with him. Which we kind of repeated when anyone else visited. Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Football Hall of Fame (Canton). My wife spent a lot of time in the Cowboys area (Fan-for-life). Tour of an Amish Home/Farm, corn maze, Zoar Ohio.
  • Story of us/2002 Cozumel - This is still one of our greatest family vacations. In June, our immediate Family and my Cousins did a group anniversary get-away to Cozamel, Mexico (with a little jaunt by ferry to Cancun). It was an all inclusive place, except for excursions. We swam with Dolphins, did Cancun, went through the ruins. Dad ate the shellfish, and got El Parasito.
  • Story of us/2002 Flight Attendant Graduation - With a Bachelors Degree is in Early Childhood development and doing social work for many years, Melissa was highly applicable but left her over-qualified to become a Flight Attendant. She graduated in August, and did it for 18 years.
  • Story of us/2003 Brothers Wedding - I was the best man for my brothers wedding (Sept). He lucked out finding Sarah. I missed the bachelor party because of the "Great 2003 Blackout". The toast (and wedding) went without a hitch. 3 kids, and a dozen years later, and their marriage is still strong.
  • Story of us/2003 Cedar Point - Cedar Point is the best roller-coaster amusement park in America. It's not even close. Melissa loves some coasters. So we drove up to Sandusky, Ohio (Aug) to try it out. We got there early, and rode everything... twice. We had such a good time, we had to do it a few more times when other friends visited.
  • Story of us/2003 The Upper - Friends bought a resort Rental Property in the "Upper" (Upper Peninsula, Michigan), we went to visit and help with their Vitamin Business website (May). We stayed in a little A-frame cabin on the water, watched the sunset at near midnight. Just enjoyed the water, serenity. It was such a quiet place.
  • Story of us/2003 Washington DC - Melissa's Mom was going to D.C. in November, so we decided to fly over and visit her there. (It was closer than Reno). This city is littered with History and a tribute to itself and government. White House, Washington Memorial, Lincoln Memorial, Arlington, Korean War Veterans Memorial, Vietnam Veterans Memorial, we saw quite a bit.
  • Story of us/2004 Renewing Vows - Holy crap women have long memories... I'd once joke, "Marriage should be a 10 year contract with an option to renew", which got us a wonderful wedding renewal at 10 year at the top of the Eiffel Tower (in Vegas) (Aug).
  • Story of us/2004 Spencer Tunick - We got naked with 2,700 strangers in Cleveland (May). We had gone to MOCA Cleveland to see an exhibit by Spencer Tunic. Coincidentally, he was doing an installation in Cleveland soon, so I signed us up. I figured it was the only way we would end up in a museum. We did, mooning all the snobs staring at my naked ass.
  • Story of us/2005 London - Londinium is always fun (May), but our digital camera got pinched on arrival. To be fair, it's gone down hill since Hadrian's Wall fell into disrepair: it kept out the riff-raff. (I kid). Phone Booths, Buckinham Palace. And family photos. Celebrated a little after the birth of my niece Olivia. Good times. Even the Beef Wellington was tasty.
  • Story of us/2005 Paris - Paris: the city of lights in May... before it became a cesspool. Impressive city. The people were nicer than we'd been lead to believe, just try to speak French and be polite, and they weren't bad at all. Eiffel Tower, Louvre, must see. Sainte-Chapelle was far better than Notre Dame. Arch de capitulation. And we stayed near Sacre Coeur Basillica. Fun trip.
  • Story of us/2006 Hawaii (Oahu) - We hadn't travelled during my MBA, so we took a trip to Honolulu, Hawaii as a graduation reward. We did the obligatory Luau. What's not to like about roast pig and getting lei'd. Pearl Harbor, laying at the beach, all fun. But the entire trip was worth it, once we tried Malasadas. A local sugar-laden donuts. Helicopter Tour of the Island was also great.
  • Story of us/2006 San Antonio - We moved to Austin, but San Antonio is only a 90 minute drive, so we visited often. No trip to San Antonio is complete without the Alamo. It's a lot like the missions in California we used to visit. You kind of have to go at least once. Nearby is the River-Walk with some shopping and food: Texas's Venice.
  • Story of us/2007 Monterey Bay - We hadn't been to the Monterey Bay Aquarium in years, so in September, we took a weekend get-away. It's a fun visit. See the squid, eat the squid (they have great Seafood in Monterey). Then you watch the otters, or play in the tidal pools, then eat the otters (J/K), and it's educational too.
  • Story of us/2008 Indoor Skydiving - We decided to try indoor skydiving in February. (A vertical wind tunnel in Oakland). I preferred the real thing.
  • Story of us/2008 Las Vegas - In November, we went to some off-season Vegas Shows. (Elton John and Bette Midler. Recession, so we got a upgraded suite overlooking Belagio fountain at Ceasars. Elton had great music, and bizarre inflatable boobs. Middler puts on a show: loony politics. We tried Bobby Flay's Michelin starred SouthWestern food (Mesa Grill). Tasty.
  • Story of us/2008 Memphis - In March, we took a weekend trip to Memphis.
  • Story of us/2009 Family Reunion - We did a Family Reunion in August: Bristol (niece) was born. Dad was diagnosed with Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma in Nov (immediately in to Chemo). Christmas with the Family, and a fight with Uncle Bill lead him to sequester Grandma until she died.
  • Story of us/2009 Pueblo - Thanksgiving in Colorado: Flew into Denver / Pueblo to see family. We visited Fire Station No 3 (built in 1881), right before it was converted into a Museum, and went shooting with Uncle "Tom" (who trains the DEA).
  • Story of us/2009 Year of the Ankle - Melissa stress-fractured the ankle running. A year of not healing: in/out/in/walking casts then surgery to put in a titanium rod. California and the Fedderal government both rejected her disabilty claims, saying crutches and a cast shouldn't prevent her from being a flight attendant. Government obstructed us from getting a service that we were entitled to.
  • Story of us/2010 Caymen Islands - Melissa took a little jaunt to the Cayman Islands w/flight-attendant friends.
  • Story of us/2010 Ringling Bros Circus - Ringling Bros & Barnum & Bailey Circus came to San Jose (Aug), so why not go? It turned out that the whole thing shut down a little while later, and this was the last time to see the "Greatest Show on Earth". Elephant train, Cool Clowns, Trapeze acts, Noise, Lights, Cotton Candy. It might not be the "Greatest Show" any more, but it's still pretty good.
  • Story of us/2011 Coast to Roseville - For our Anniversary (Aug), we did a drive up the coast to Half Moon Bay, drove to Sausalito, and then Roseville. We ate at Michelin-starred Cafe Gibraltar in Half Moon Bay and tried Johnny Garlic's. Just an extended weekend get-away.
  • Story of us/2012 Hawaii (Big Island) - Another Hawai'i get-away, this time to the Big Island in March. We were in Kona (the Dry side), but did a drive around the Island (and saw the Lava and the Wet Side). With some hanging out at the pool or water with a Mai Thai.
  • Story of us/2012 Las Vegas - Group outing to Las Vegas (May) with neighbors and friends: "Pawn Stars", the Neon Boneyard, and Love. Friends and the show Love were the highlights for me.
  • Story of us/2018 Hawaii (Oahu) - Family Thanksgiving (Nov) in Hawaii: family, friends, and a Jellyfish sting. Good food, lots of Family. Beach, Snorkeling (wife got shitfaced with Marcus), fun Church, Sea Life Park, obligatory Luau, Pearl Harbor, Waimea Falls and North Shore (with Dole Plantation on the way). Then a Parade and Fireworks. It was quite fun and memorable.
  • Story of us/2019 Rock n Roll 10K - Melissa did the Rock 'n' Roll Marathon (at least the 10K), in preparation for a half Marathon in November.
  • Story of us/2021 Christmas - We visited family in Mission Viejo for our Omicron Christmas COVID).
  • Story of us/2022 Devon 50 - My brother wanted a Cowboy/Ranchero themed 50th Birthday/Charity event (for uReach) that raised enough to build a home for under-privileged Oaxacan Indians.
  • Story of us/2022 Lake Life - Lake Living... friends took us on their boat to the "beach" (White Sand river beach) where people just hang out, drink beer, and chat with strangers until they're friends. Our lake has a few of these hangouts, this was one of the quieter ones.
  • Story of us/2022 Thanksgiving - Thanksgiving with my Brother and his family and friends..
