Radical "Journolist" was killed by Saudis. Biden rubs salt in the wound, then is shocked they don't want to work with him.
~ Aristotle Sabouni
- Khashoggi was a pain to the Saudis long enough that someone took him out.
- While I'm not a fan of wanton murder of political rivals posing as Journalists, you do have to pick your battles. Biden picked his as taking every opportunity to taunt the Saudis with Khashoggi's killing. (About as helpful as them doing the same with Sadam or Osama Bin Laden. They might be wrong, but using it to torment them is only going to abrade the friendship.
- Speaking of Osama Bin Laden, he and Khashoggi were good buddies growing up that dreamed of an Islamic Caliphate together. (Ignoring that Iran is the Islamic state they want... just Suni instead of Shia). But the press. left and Biden are too busy pretending that the enemy of our allies in the region, can be a really bad guy too.
- But in the end, you have to decide how big a deal it is. Since the left are Muslim Brotherhood sympathizers, that helped them get control of Egypt and Libya, and did little to thwart ISIL -- they seem to be unwilling to get past Khashoggi's dismemberment. To the point that they burn down our relationships to reverse the peace deals that Trump was getting and progress in the region.
As National Review puts it, if there's a middle east civil war (and there kinda is), and the U.S. wants to stick their nose in it (which we probably shouldn't), then about the worse side you pick is the Muslim Brotherhood and ISIL over the Saudi's. But that's the way that Wrong-Way Joe wants to pick. Then is shocked when OPEC won't increase oil production and help him out.
What did we learn? I know, an old joke. Biden has learning nothing in his 75 years in the Senate, except how to line his own pockets and alienate our allies.
