Heckler's veto

Stickmen Free Speech Oppression.svg
A Heckler's veto is where one person oppresses anothers free speech (often using free speech as cover).
Heckler's veto is where one person (or progressive) oppresses others ability to exercise their free speech by shouting them down, bullying/intimidation, threats, disrupting, or causing a violent ruckus that shuts down a whole event (often using the cover of free speech for why they should be able to do it).

There's a self-contradiction that in order to have free speech, you need to suppress some speech: but the reality exists.

For example, if you have a heckler that will commit enough violence, or get a few people to scream loud enough, or attack attendees of an event (persons or property), then they will effectively shut down the free speech of another. Since one person's rights can't preclude another's, and their speech isn't just expressing their views but is done for the purpose of stopping another from being heard -- this is a free speech issue, but to protect free speech you need to prosecute the oppressor.

The far left lies. They use this backwards. Antifa says that they have an obligation to "bash the fasce" -- to use all the techniques above to stop anyone they disagree with from getting their say. And they claim it is their free speech rights that allow them to do it. But again, their objective is not to express their views, but to suppress the other side. And they will use criminal means to do it. Thus their arguments are invalid.
