Dropping the Bomb
The "defeated Japan” theory, and the idea that “the U.S. didn’t NEED to drop the bomb” is regularly regurgitated by leftists or anti-American alternative History believers. But the actual history of WWII says otherwise. This article sources a lot of the real history, instead of the fictitious one run by FakeNews outlets, and repeated by the left.

Military industrial complex
Dwight D. Eisenhower warned about iron triangles (government conspiring with politicians and special interests to work against the public), and coined the term "the Military Industrial Complex". The military has fallen to 1/4th the spending while Poverty Industrial Complex has grown 8x (far larger that military spending). The warning still applies, the biggest threat has changed.

North Korea
Eisenhower screwed up Korea, others made it worse. And Eisenhower was screwed because FDR/Truman helped the communists get China, which setup the Korean War. Democrats do more harm than Republicans through appeasement. It's a tough situation for any President -- but paying their extortion and kicking the can down the road seems to have the worst outcomes.

Russian Spies in the McCarthy Era
List of folks that were Soviet Spies or were aiding spies (knowingly or unknowingly), that McCarthy was talking about. Many miseducated or uneducated Americans don't know that (a) there was a real problem (b) the Democrats (or the deep state) were obstructing fixing the problem because it made them look bad. It wasn't a witch hunt because Communists were real problems.

The Untold Story of Senator Joe McCarthy
It's a fascinating, well-researched, disection of the myths and propaganda that happened for the general public. It turns out McCarthy's name should remain synonymous with libelous witch hunts, not because he was the perpetrator of them, but the victim of them. McCarty was the victim of McCarthyism, not the perpetrator. FDR, Truman, the media, and our education system have all distorted what happened and why.
