CNN claimed that FakeNews on Twitter is what allowed Trump to win the 2016 elections: the study was debunked.

Details[edit | edit source]

  1. The Oxford Internet Institute study cited was about JunkNews (not FakeNews)
  2. It was poorly researched
  3. It included many mainstream conservative site like The Washington Examiner and Breitbart, which both contribute original reporting and have seats in the White House press pool.
  4. They were only commenting on the volume of messages, not the impact of them (as CNN did).

Lots of fail.
